From your posts to your retweets, what are your different social media platforms saying about you? And do you know who you’re actually even talking to? Many times it’s going to be different than who we think but analytics and testing will get you there!
Two surprising facts I see in my clients:
So first… let’s do some research on what the masses are already talking about and how you can enter the fast lane of those conversations.
Here are some fantastic and easy to use tools:

You can search by topic and region to help you find trends that will be relevant to your audience and then start to test various posts around that topic.
In last week’s post I talked about my ninja hack for using Facebook groups to start a) finding your ideal avatar and b) creating content around their questions and concerns and what they’re already talking about
Reddit has over 330 million users. Ask Me Anything (AMA) allows readers to ask questions in a live interview format.
There are a number of different AMA “subreddits”– as they’re called — that means sub categories– that will work for your audience: nutrition, exercise, entrepreneurship, even dog training, etc.
Reddit AMA is a growing community of users that will ask you honest QUESTIONS and give you INVALUABLE and FREE feedback.
The most popular AMAs ever held have been with celebrities and politicians such as the one held with Barack Obama back in 2012.
But don’t worry, you don’t have to be big to get big results.
A lot of those answers actually come from the analytics tools you already have on your social platforms.
Could you tell me how many people clicked on your profile link to get to your site, or how many people messaged you for more information? Where in the world your audience is from or what time of day they’re most active?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions, you should. When viewing your home page.

To keep it simple, I’m going to break down three sections of Insights
The Activity tab shows you key stats on how your overall profile is doing.
Things like:
This next section is the holy grail for telling you if your content is connecting.

This allows you to look back at the posts that did well to see what type of content (pictures, video, quote card) is working. What hashtags did you use? Did you tag any influencers, etc in it?
This type of leg work is a crucial difference that many people overlook.
You can also change to see top performing posts by different categories like profile visits or get directions if you have a physical business
This basic information helps you tailor your content to the major gender, age, and location of your community. Plus best time to post!

BOTTOM LINE: There’s a method to the madness of choosing a message that will connect with the masses and a ton of tools to start seeing clearly when it is and isn’t working.
The key? Consistency. Don’t give up just because one post didn’t connect. Keep testing and trying. We’re all in this together!
